The Course:
The Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club is laid out on a small peninsula of land just outside Hong Kong City. The golf course was originally designed in the early 1980s, but was completely redesigned in 2006 providing an 18 hole links style championship course and a 9 hole executive course.

The course uses Bermudagrass (Tifeagle) on the greens and Zoysia on tees, fairways and rough. The greens are standard USGA construction, while the remainder of the course lies on the indigenous mixture of clay, rock and sand.

The course offers tremendous views of the surrounding Bay and Landscape.

Discovery Bay Golf Club is located on a mountain above the upscale community of Discovery Bay on Lantau Island. Conveniently located within 25 minutes of the Central financial district; 10 minutes from Hong Kong Disneyland and 20 minutes from Hong Kong International Airport, Discovery Bay offers a unique golfing experience within minutes of the city of Hong Kong.

This Hong Kong golf club is firmly established as one of Southeast Asia's premier golfing venues. Open in 1983, Discovery Bay Golf Club offers three interesting and testing layouts; the Diamond, Jade and Ruby nines. The original 18-hole course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is both spectacular and difficult offering a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. An additional nine holes was constructed and opened for play in June 1992. The landscape and terrain can be quite challenging, requires a bit of skill.

The Diamond Course is generally considered to be the most difficult of the courses. Drastic changes in elevation and quick undulating greens are the norm. The Ruby Course is a little more forgiving from the tee than Diamond and offers some breathtaking views from its higher reaches. The Jade Course is home to a number of sharp dogleg's and a lot of water. Try to keep your ball dry please. by Kerry Zangara
